Wine is a vast topic that can feel overwhelming if you don’t know anything beyond red vs. white – and that’s okay. Vinophiles love to throw around terms like bouquet, tannins, acidity, and mouthfeel...but what does all of this actually mean? If you’re interested in finding out (while tasting some premium wines along the way), this class is for you. In this intro wine class, Sommelier Kristina Sazama will school you on how to taste wine using interactive, hands-on activities that’ll give you a good sense of what elements to look for in a wine. All in all, you’ll taste four different Brooklyn Winery wines produced right here in our Williamsburg facility – and you’ll leave the class armed with practical knowledge that you can put to use the next time you need to select a wine.
Instructor Bio: Kristina first discovered her passion for wine while entertaining clients during a decade on Wall Street. Since leaving the world of finance behind, Kristina has pursued her interest in wine while working at Momofuku Ssäm Bar, Momofuku Ko, and Michael Skurnik Wines. Kristina holds the Diploma of Wine & Spirits from the Wine & Spirits Education Trust in London and is a Certified Sommelier from the Court of Master Sommeliers. When not indulging her passions for eating and drinking, Kristina can be found in vineyards all over the world preparing for the Master of Wine examinations.
