Brooklyn Winery is seeking a part-time or freelance social media specialist to coordinate our urban winery and restaurant social media presence. We are looking for a smart, energetic, driven, and independent individual to attract and engage with our digital audience and promote the Brooklyn Winery and BKW brand across multiple social media channels and platforms. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Work with marketing manager to create and implement social media strategy
  • Work creatively and cooperatively to develop and execute social media campaigns
  • Generate, edit, and publish daily content 
  • Grow and engage our online audience 
  • Manage all brand social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, SnapChat)

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in social media marketing or digital marketing
  • Proven working experience in social media marketing
  • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills 
  • Impeccable attention to detail
  • Excellent ability to work independently
  • Experience in wine or hospitality related industry is a plus
  • Photography and video skills are a plus

BKW is looking for a motivated professional to join the team at our a la carte restaurant, located on Franklin Avenue in Crown Heights.

Job Summary
The Sous Chef reports to the Chef de Cuisine and is responsible for aiding in planning, implementing, directing and maintaining food programs and back of house operations for the restaurant. The chef must ensure that all goals are met while complying with New York State and federal health requirements.  This would be a great position for a skilled line cook looking to take on their first management position.  Any prior kitchen managerial experience is a plus.

 

Responsibilities

  • Work with chef de cuisine to maintain a high standard of food and service and to ensure that food business operates as per upper management’s vision and standards
  • Oversee day to day kitchen operations for all aspects of food production
  • Assist with the development of menus
  • Conduct on-going staff tastings
  • Consistently execute and oversee production of menu
  • Maintain recipe files
  • Assist with food purchases and inventory control
  • Manage back of house personnel, ensuring they comply with management protocols
  • In charge of back of house staff, training
  • Provide culinary leadership to staff
  • Oversee portion control and food presentation
  • Expedite and manage back of house staff during service and key events
  • Responsible for maintaining back of house compliance with Department of Health standards 
  • Conduct regular food safety walkthroughs
  • Work with Front of House team to ensure excellent client experiences

 

Requirements

  • Held a culinary position in a professional NYC fine dining kitchen for at least 5 years
  • Excellent management and delegation skills
  • Positive and constructive attitude during service and able to maintain composure and lead through example
  • Keep a clean and orderly kitchen
  • Hold a NYC Department of Health certificate

Brooklyn Winery, an urban winery in the heart of Williamsburg, seeks a knowledgable sommelier with a sparkling personality and a passion for wine education. We are a fully functioning winery with a busy wine bar and prolific event business. We are looking for someone to lead private Winery Tours as well as Blending Sessions, Blind Tasting Classes, and a Wine Games activity for corporate and social events. The ideal candidate will have some formal wine education and a deep understanding of the winemaking process. This candidate will have the option to work on a freelance basis or be willing to supplement with server shifts.
